Egyptian  pyramids  are  one  of  the  most  magnificent  landmarks  in  history.  They reflected  the role  of  pharaohs  in  society.  The  most  notable  pyramid  was  the  Great  Pyramid  of  Giza.  It's one  of  the  remaining  seven  wonders.  It  was  built  for  Pharaoh  Khufu,  was  the  tallest  man  made  structure  for  over  3,000  years.  It  apparently  took  20  years  and  100,00  men  to complete  the  structure.  Not  much  is  known  about  Pharaoh  Khufu's  reign  besides  his pyramid's  grandeur.  Egyptians  believed  pyramids  lead  to  prosperity  in  their  afterlife. They were  often  left  in  tombs.

This  symbol  looks  like  a  smoky  eye  with  a  teardrop  coming  down. Horus  was  the  Egyptian  god  of  protection,  sacrifice,  and  healing.  He  was  depicted  as  a  falcon,  who  was  associated  with  the  sun.  His  left  eye  was  associated  with  the  moon (Thoth).  There's  a  myth  his  eye  was  gouged  out  and  the  moon  God  Thoth  healed  him.  Horus  gave  the  healed  eye  to  his  father  to  restore  his  life.  The  eye  in  hieroglyphics  could  represent  protection  or  wrath.
